Terroir of the Neighbourhood
Atkinsons Breakfast Blend Tea is a perfectly balanced blend designed to invigorate and revive at any time of day, especially breakfast time. We seize the bright and boisterous, tippy Assam leaves and coax them into behaving with the gentler, more forgiving Darjeeling. This produces a juxtapositional light and dark 'char-oscuro' creation. Our Breakfast Blend Tea is a bit more vigorous than some gentler blends. This seems to be what our legions of tea drinkers have preferred over the years. It's the 'Terroir of there Neighbourhood'!
The Tea Master Magicians
By remaining loyal to our time-honoured suppliers we can guarantee a consistency and continuity that will serve to uphold this legacy blend that has been such a favourite for so long. We put our trust in the taste buds of tea masters at origin and at importers warehouses. They both know intimately the effects of the changing seasons on the different harvests coming through the supply chain. They can make tiny adjustments to the constituent parts of the blend, like a magician's sleight of hand, so you don't even notice the disappearance of an old season leaf and the arrival of the new crop.
Our Quoteadian Rhythmns
We still have the habit of opening the day with a rich and fulfilling pot of Breakfast Blend Tea. Perhaps, for us, it's because we know that, as our working day unfolds, we will be upping the caffeine levels to even greater heights as our coffee consumption kicks in. We religiously guzzle our quotidian quota of coffee by lunchtime. Then we equally meticulously convert back to tea in the afternoon. So, as coffee roasters, our daily rhythm is bookended by our old familiar friend the tea leaf!
Brewing Breakfast Blend Tea
We brew this tea with water off the boil using 1 teaspoon per cup for 2-3 minutes. Traditionally Breakfast Blend Tea is enjoyed with a drop of milk but it also tastes great on it's own as a slightly lighter brew.
