Lemon and Ginger Fruit Tisane is a warming and invigorating blend of lemongrass, ginger and lemon pieces. It can really lift the spirits in the middle of Winter, as well as refresh the palate on a Summer's day!
The health benefits of this tisane are humungous!
Lemon
We're probably all aware that Lemon, like all citrus fruits is an essential source of Vitamin C but did you know that it also improves your skin quality? And it can aid weight loss with all the polyphenol antioxidants it packs! It's also a mild laxative for those suffering with constipation.
Ginger
Ginger is one of the healthiest spices on the planet. It has long been used throughout history by medics and shamans to help digestion, reduce nausea and even fight the common cold. It's absolutely loaded with nutrients and bioactive compounds that have powerful benefits for both your body and brain. The main bioactive compound is the rather unimaginatively named Gingerol, which has powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects.
Lemongrass
This tropical grassy plant has long been used in oriental herbal medicine to aid digestion. It also helps to lower blood pressure and relieve stress, anxiety and depression. Lemongrass contains Citral an anti-inflammatory compound which can complement the work the ginger is doing in that department. Even if you're lucky enough now not be suffering from arthriti, not to worry you too much, but I'm afraid the bad news is it'll probably get you before the end!
So, this delicious, uplifting tisane is a wonderful contender to consider for the main health drink of the day. I don't think you could drink it all the time and it's certainly not a session option. I imagine that would leave you slightly puckered and sour-faced on the outside even if you're in glowing health own the inside!
Brewing Lemon and Ginger Tea
With the addition of lemongrass our lemon and ginger tea has an extra zesty kick to it so we recommend a gentle brew of 1 teaspoon per pot for 1-2 minutes.
