Christmas Gift Guide

Finding that perfect gift for the coffee or tea lover in your life can be tricky so to make life easier we've put together our top ten recommendations in one place. Whether it's a little stocking filler or something for that coffee pro, we've tried to cover all bases with this year's Gift Guide.

1. Christmas Blend Coffee - £9

Whether you're making a quick cafetière, a more nuanced pour over or even an espresso, this year's Christmas Blend coffee is designed to give great results across a range of brew methods.

This Christmas Blend is a combination of two stunning coffees from single farms from Guatemala and El Salvador. The El Ingenio farm in El Salvador is now run by sixth generation Enrique, Rene and Gustavo who's hard work over the years has paid off getting them into the Cup of Excellence finals 7 times.

The other half of the blend comes from Finca Belen in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Farmed on the steep, forested slopes of Huehue, coffee is pulped on their artisanal pulper and dried on the roofs of houses, the flattest area around.

2. Castle Tote - £8

Our Atkinsons Castle tote bag celebrates our first year in our cafe within the Lancaster Castle grounds and pays tribute to this famous local landmark. This in-house lino print design of the John O Gaunt Gateway is screen printed in Sheffield in white on 10 oz organic cotton canvas.

3. Potosi X.O. - £11

This limited release, micro lot is a rare variety, San Juan, a natural mutation of Mundo Novo, Bourbon and Maragogype which flourishes in the rich volcanic soils at Potosi. These soils are also 100% organically fertilized from the farms cattle and the worm farm which helps increase the cherries sugar content. This X.O. lot has been designed by the Esperanza team to have a flavour profile akin to a fine Congac, perfect for supping in these winter months!

4. V60 Gift Set - £21

Often the barista's brew method of choice, pour over coffee gives a clear, crisp mouthfeel and highlights a coffee's inherent fruit notes. This Gift Set includes everything you need to get started, a V60 ideal for brewing 1-2 cups, 40 filter papers and a bag of this year's Christmas Blend Coffee, a great all rounder for the festive season with dark chocolate sweetness, velvety body and faint spicy aroma.

5. Chocolate Bundle - £15.95

The perfect gift for the chocoholic this Christmas, this pack includes a bag of Atkinsons Belgian Drinking Chocolate as well as two festive chocolate bars from Edinburgh based chocolatiers Coco.

6. Subscription Coffee - £27

Treat someone to the gift of great coffee delivered straight to their door every week, fortnight or month. Choose between our current monthly favourite roasted for filter or the same espresso coffee each time. If you're buying for a big coffee drinker you can go for deliveries of 500g or 1kg bags and if you're feeling generous our Gift Subscriptions are available for 3, 6 or 12 month periods.

7. Atkinsons Travel Tumbler - £35

Take your coffee on the go with an Atkinsons branded, Kinto Travel Tumbler. These light-weight thermal flasks keep brewed coffee or tea hot for ages and are ideal for filling up from your local Atkinsons cafe! An electro-polished interior prevents odours building up and a durable powder coated finish helps prevent scratches or marks.

8. Moka Pot Gift Set - £35

The Moka Pot is something of a design classic in the coffee world. A popular brew method in Italy and parts of Europe, it can brew coffee in a style somewhere between filter and espresso. That's why we're pairing it with our Archetype Espresso, currently 100% Honduras Aproca Cerchil, for its full body, syrupy mouthfeel and notes of hazelnut, coco and molasses.

9. Aeropress - £27.50

A Christmas Gift Guide wouldn't be complete without the one and only Aeropress. The popularity of this piece of kit has not wained since it launched back in 2004. Utilising elements of immersion, percolation and pressure, this is one of the most versatile pieces of coffee equipment out there. Playing around with different techniques means you can really explore the potential in a coffee with this brew method.

10. Timemore Chestnut C2 Grinder - £62

The C2 hand grinder from Timemore is one of the best hand grinders on the market. Machining of this piece of kit is of very high quality, with handle and lower chamber fitting into place with a really snug fit. A metal dimpled surface provides a good grip and adds to an overall elegant and simple look. We've found this grinder gives a really smooth action when grinding with less resistance than some cheaper hand grinders and the quality of grind is up there with a good electric burr grinder. If you're after espresso grind, this might not quite get there, but otherwise, this is top notch!
